”Hey guys, my name is Dustin Spray and I wanted to share my story with you.

This story happened from a 360 Hunting Blinds Shooting House elevated on a mobile trailer—I call it ‘Hunting an Ohio Giant’

October 30, 2025 — a last-minute decision that turned into one of those days you tuck away in your memory. It was only my second hunt of the year, and I almost didn’t make it out, but the cut bean field looked worth the risk as heavy rains eased. I settled into my 360 Shooting House hunting blind, rain still tapping the roof, anticipation building as I got settled in for the evening hunt.

The wind was out of the north-northwest, cool and steady. I watched the far edge of the cut beans, thinking the gusts would keep everything quiet. Then he stepped out. It was him. The 11. A big buck, cautious but confident, walking with the wind in his face. He went straight to a mud puddle and lowered his head to drink, right out in the open, totally focused. For reasons I still can’t explain, he never busted me. Even with the breeze blowing his way, he kept feeding along, then moved straight downwind of my blind. I couldn’t believe he wasn’t winding me, keep coming I thought to myself.

When the moment came I eased the window of the blind open, picked up my crossbow, found a solid rest, and took the shot at about forty yards. He ran off, that heart-sinking moment of watching him disappear, but it didn’t last long. I tracked him for around 100 yards. He didn’t go far. I found him laying less than 10 yards from the back of my Polaris side-by-side. What a magnificent mature 11-point buck. The 4 year quest was finally over. Quiet gratitude washed over me there in the mud of the tilled clover field, felt blessed, humbled, and thankful for a perfect, unexpected day in the field. He Field dressed at 215lbs, and green scored 188" with over 40" of mass, making him my largest Whitetail to date. Thanks 360 Hunting Blinds for making a great, scent proof hunting blind!”

Thanks for sharing this amazing story, Dustin! We’re so pleased to hear it when hard work is paid off, achievements are met, goals hit, and hunting memories made within a 360 Hunting Blind. Y’all have a great weekend!
