Big Buck Down - Ringing In The New Year With Kyle Heuerman

Kyle had quite the memorable New Year’s hunt… we’ll let him tell the story:

”With questionable winds, I knew I couldn’t risk sitting in a tree stand and burning this spot before the hunt ever had a chance to unfold. Instead, I made the call to slip into my mobile 360 Shooting House, confident it would contain the majority of my scent. That decision ended up being the turning point of this hunt.

Before long, over 30 deer surrounded the blind, filtering into the plot one by one. Then, a mature buck appeared at the edge of the woods. He stayed just inside cover for more than ten minutes, carefully watching the plot and the other deer, making sure the coast was clear before committing.

When he finally stepped out into the Real World Gen 2 beans, he fed cautiously, slowly closing the distance to the rest of the deer — all within 30 yards of the blind. Waiting for the right moment, I eased the front window open, making sure no eyes were on me. I drew back, settled the pin, and made the shot.
