Harrison & Chris vs oh whitetail season

Chris Aichholz and his family purchased ag land in NW Ohio back in 2016. They put a 1 acre pond in, along with almost 2 acres of food plots, and have transformed the property with trees, 300 rhizomes of miscanthus grass (from RWWP), perennial screening…. And a massive labor of love for the Ohio Whitetail Hunt. In summer of 2024 Chris and his son, Harrison, contacted Swamp Bottom Habitat, a 360 dealer in Shiloh OH, and got their first 360 Hunting Blind. Harrison (11 years old) shot his first buck & doe, in the 2024 season. This year, he and his father doubled up, on the same hunt with the very same crossbow! They had two windows opened; Harrison shot his buck first, handed Chris the crossbow and out of the other side, Chris was able to reload and take his buck! This sounds like a wild dream come true, but they put in the work. As a family, they do everything including food plots, property management, digging in waterways, and since the opener on September 27th, they’ve sat for 30+ hunts.

A message  from Chris:
“Words can't describe this feeling!! Harrison has been hunting hard and has had a ton of close calls but it just hadn't happened yet. We watched so many deer this morning but again came up short. We got in the 360 Hunting Blind as early as we could this afternoon and boy did it pay off. We had a pile of deer in the field around us right away. Harrison watched this buck come 500 yards on a line to the dozen or so doe that we had in front of us. He made up his mind that if he gave him a shot he was going to take it and at 30 yards he smoked him.

Excitement rushed over us but Harrison had the frame of mind to tell me to re-cock the bow and get ready because the buck we call the "shed" buck was coming on a line to us. This was even after the chaos of him shooting and the deer scattering. Sure enough the shed buck gave me a shot and I smoked him. We watched him go down and we both lost it in the blind!! We had just doubled up on bucks with the same bow, from the same blind, 5-minutes apart. It was truly unbelievable, and a memory we will have forever, in a 360 Hunting Blind!!”

We love the stories coming out of the 360 blinds each year. Harrison and Chris are great examples of stewards of the land. Putting in the dedication, time, and sweat since 2016. Come fall, they’re reaping what they've sewn. There’s nothing better than seeing the hard work and passion handed off from one generation and into the next.

Lots of time spent in the 360!

Fall 2024. Harrison’s first buck!

November 2025, doubled down on the same hunt.
